Open nightly from 5:30pm to 7:30am through April 30th

Program accepts walk-ins or referrals from Dept of Social Services or law enforcement


Jamestown, NY…Recovery Options Made Easy (Recovery Options) has contracted to provide Code Blue Emergency Housing for Chautauqua County. Code Blue Emergency Housing is provided to single men and women who do not qualify for Temporary Housing Assistance in Chautauqua County and to homeless individuals when temperatures drop below 32°F. Recovery Options Code Blue Warming Center is located at The Gateway Center located at 31 Water Street, Jamestown, New York. The facility can accommodate a minimum of 25 participants during the cold weather period this year, the center will be open nightly through April 30 and accepts individuals at anytime during the night. 

The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene worked closely with the City of Jamestown & the county Department of Social Services to offer these services to the homeless.  Recovery Options provides a safe and supportive environment for Chautauqua County residents to sleep or warm up with well-trained peer staff.  Recovery Options accepts walk-ins to the Code Blue Warming Center, or via referrals through Chautauqua County Department of Social Services or by law enforcement. 

Recovery Options’ Code Blue Warming Center shares space at The Gateway Center with other community support services.  Community Helping Hands provides additional support through the Mental Health Association in Chautauqua County that provides peer recovery services, St. Susan Center that serves meals six-days a week to the community and Erie-2 BOCES that offers instructional programs in career education.  

Recovery Options has more than 30 years of experience delivering similar housing, respite and supportive services across WNY.  Recovery Options’ CEO, Shannon Higbee shared that, “Our team has worked diligently to ensure that we can welcome people to a safe and supportive environment where they can warm up, have a bite to eat, interact with our well-trained staff, and sleep each night through the Code Blue season.  We are pleased to be able to offer this vital service to Chautauqua County residents.” 

Recovery Options Made Easy is a peer-run, not-for-profit organization providing multiple recovery support to individuals experiencing mental health concerns across 10 counties in Western New York and the Finger Lakes Regions. Recovery Options services include supportive housing, community-based recovery services, and crisis response programs including crisis respites and warmlines. In recognition of the complexities involved in addressing mental health distress, Recovery Options applies trauma-informed strategies focused on an individual’s needs, with the goals of de-escalating a mental health crisis, as well as aiding in lifelong recovery.
