Matthew Overfield (Matt) earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting summa cum laude from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington. Matt has worked for fourteen years at the executive level in the hospitality industry managing multiple venue properties in Washington State. As an end-user of financial reporting, Matt started his finance career in public accounting providing financial and process auditing, equity raises and acquisitions, and fraud investigations. Matt’s not-for-profit experience includes working as the Director of Finance for Habitat for Humanity and as the Controller for The Chautauqua Institution. Matt came to ROME in August 2023 from a $35M transportation broker with considerable real property and ground freight assets.
