Elizabeth Smith is a Senior Administrator, overseeing Acacia Network’s Substance Use Disorder (SUD) outpatient program portfolios in Upstate New York. She oversees the operational functioning of Acacia Network’s upstate programs and operational initiatives, in coordination with the executive team. She also provides guidance and support in the strategic development of various goals, including integration of the programs to meet high standards and best practices in safety, quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.

In her role, Elizabeth manages operations for Acacia Network-Promesa, Inc. integrated SUD and mental health outpatient treatment programs in Buffalo and Dunkirk. In addition, Elizabeth has submitted Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) application to open residential program within Rochester which will fall under her Upstate portfolio. Acacia’s upstate behavioral health services currently employs over 75 individuals and provides services to a unique patient population of about 1100 individuals and families. This diverse offerings include outpatient programs licensed by the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and integrated with mental health Integrated Outpatient Services, in addition to OASAS HIV Early Intervention Service and Center of Treatment Intervention Mobile Unit grants.

Elizabeth has been on the cutting edge of opening start up outpatient treatment programs and culturally competent service delivery, and is successfully leading Medication Assisted Treatment, open access and integrated care initiatives. She has become a topic expert and is currently the Chair of the Prevention & Addiction Services and Supports Subcommittee of the Erie County Mental Health Community Service Board. Elizabeth is a member of the Coalition of Medication Assisted Treatment Providers and Advocates (COMPA).

Elizabeth is a hands-on, strong Macedonian female who is a driven community leader with a solid track record in the behavioral health arena, possessing rich operations experience of over twenty years within opioid treatment and chemical dependence outpatient treatment program settings. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hilbert College and is an OASAS Advanced Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. Elizabeth completed Trauma Informed Care Learning Collaborative offered by CHCANYS, in collaboration with the University of Buffalo’s Institute on Trauma and Trauma-Informed Care.
