A Network of
Working together is the first step to recovery. Here at Recovery Options, we understand the value of shared affiliation and embrace the importance of this experience. People living with a mental health issue and/or substance use have a unique capacity to help each other based on these values. In self-help and mutual support, people offer this support, strength, and hope to their peers, which allows for personal growth, wellness promotion, and recovery.
Community-Based Recovery
As peers, we understand the barriers which may be encountered along the path of recovery, and that recovery is a personal and unique journey. We’re here to offer peer support and encouragement on this journey, utilizing existing community resources to assist individuals in finding and igniting their “spark of life.”Â
Through various partnerships throughout multiple counties, we’re able to offer a variety of services and support to cater to each individual who comes through our doors. Whether you seek one-on-one assistance, or prefer the camaraderie of community activities or social events, Recovery Options has cultivated a network of programs to tailor to each individual.
Recovery Options Peer Support Services
STRAWW
A multi-county, peer-driven recovery center in New York State, funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health to assist individuals in mental health recovery. Participants and Recovery Guides meet at various places in the community—not a specific building location—meaning that the center is “Without Walls.” We partner with Directions on Independent Living in Olean and the Mental Health Association of Chautauqua County. STRAWW covers Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua counties. It is structured to promote personal wellness, help reduce high-end services, and reduce potential barriers so that all persons in recovery can find their “spark of life.”
Youth Program
Youth Recovery Guides will also provide community linkages, advocacy, and peer support based on the individual’s needs and help monitor, reduce, and eliminate uncomfortable or dangerous physical and emotional difficulties. It is available in Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties for those aged between 18 and 25.
Peer Bridger
The Peer Bridger program serves individuals in Erie and Monroe Counties. Active outreach based on person-centered approaches will be essential components of the program as Peer Bridgers help these individuals overcome obstacles and form supportive networks so that they can live as independently as possible in the community.
Mobile Transition & Outreach Services
Recovery Options contracts with Chautauqua County to provide peer specialists that work on mobile transition teams. Our peers, in collaboration with the other members of the mobile transition team, provide a myriad of services to individuals served by the mobile transition teams.
