Ellen is the Assistant Regional Utility Engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation. She supports civil engineers and external stakeholders in identifying facility conflicts and solutions as well as managing the information flow and archiving within the Utility Unit. Ellen fosters an environment of collaboration between different groups within and outside of the NYSDOT.
Ellen holds three degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
As a long time Buffalo resident, Ellen has been outspoken in telling her personal story of advocating for children within the mental health service system; particularly those of color. She participates in ongoing dialog concerning the history and current matters of marginalized groups within America, as a society. Ellen’s academic background, advocacy, and personal experience compliment Recovery Options’ work in supporting those in mental health crisis.
